The eighth annual Topping Out Networking Event and Awards Program was held Thursday, October 6th at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. Since 2002, leaders in the A/E/C industry have met annually to honor the teamwork it takes to create outstanding built environments in the DFW area, to recognize the year’s top ten projects, and to network with peers to discuss the industry’s future.

Topping Out 2011 signified a coming together of the building industry in more ways than one. Awards were handed out not on the basis of individual achievement but rather in honor of the collective accomplishments of the entire team responsible for a project’s success. Former Dallas Mayor and A/E/C executive, Tom Leppert, was the honorary chair of the event. Event co-chairs were Myriam Camargo of Camargo Copeland Architects, Jessica Ferrell of Austin Commercial and David Neal of Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing.

The Botanical Research Institute of Texas was this year’s winner, submitted by Corgan Associates, Inc. and H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture LLC. Congratulations to all the finalists this year! Thomas Reprographics was a gold sponsor of this year’s event along with HKS, Inc., Engineering News Record-ENR Texas and Louisiana and The Blue Ocean. The beneficiaries of Topping Out areThe University of Texas at Arlington, School of Architecture and The ARC of Dallas.

Students at the University of Texas of Arlington displayed representative work at the Topping Out event. The work included student projects currently being completed in the School of Architecture design studios. During the event, the students were available to discuss their work and interact with industry professionals. The Topping Out event is among the flagship fundraising efforts for The Arc of Dallas. For more than 50 years, The Arc of Dallas has been serving people with developmental disabilities including mental retardation, autism and Down Syndrome.

At Thomas Reprographics, we’re not just in the printing business because we like to print things. Our job is to understand our clients' goals and needs, earn their trust and prove that we’re a valuable asset that has many different types of services to help meet those goals.

Take a look at these crazy construction conundrums. We know our customers would never make these mistakes, but if you find yourself with something you need to cover up, Thomas Reprographics is here to help. Printing and installing custom banners or building wraps is our specialty. We’ll also print your architectural drawings to repair the mishap.

There's nothing like game day. Whether you spend your Friday nights under the lights, Saturday afternoons in the sun, Sundays tailgating in the lot of your favorite stadium or Monday nights parked in front of the TV, you're bound to understand the magic incited by three words: It's. Game. Day. The Super Bowl takes that excitement to a whole new level, and you've likely discovered that we're ready for February. We're so excited, in fact, that we've decorated accordingly:

That's right—we've got Super Bowl-themed vehicle wraps, window clings, and lightboxes!

Building banner

Have you recently found yourself wondering, “How do I advertise my business for the Super Bowl?” Here’s a little reminder from us: we think building banners are super cool!  Seven long days before kickoff, ESPN coverage for the Super Bowl begins in Sundance Square deep in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas. With the Fort Worth skyscrapers and buildings in the background, tens of thousands of fans will converge on Sundance Square as millions tune in from all over the world. Here at Thomas Reprographics, we can’t imagine a better time to take advantage of our large-format printing abilities. If you can visualize the huge statement a building banner could make for your business, consider giving Thomas Reprographics a call today at 1.800.TRREPRO.

According to the McGraw-Hill Construction Forecast, the nation’s construction industry will begin a slow recovery next year.

No matter what you’re selling — be it nacho dip platters, big-screen TVs, hot air balloon rides or spray-on tans — when a large-scale cultural event like the Super Bowl takes place in your city, you experience a sharp up-tick in sales. Normally, the goal of marketing is two-fold: first, to convince people that they need your product/service, and second, that they should buy it from you instead of someone else.

The Super Bowl brings with it a 200K+ population spike in the DFW area. This influx means that pushing the necessity of your service/product can take a temporary back seat to pushing the benefits of choosing your company, brand or most profitable product instead of someone else’s. One amazingly effective way to communicate your message for the February 2011 Super Bowl is by using static window clings. Thomas Reprographics has the capability to print photo-quality graphics at any scale AND come install it at your location in time for Super Bowl XLV. Window clings allow you to capture the attention of approaching customers at the exact moment that they’re sorting though the things they need to buy. It’s the perfect moment to make a suggestion. Window clings are sure to wow your customers. Want to impress ‘em in other ways, too? We’ve got eight Super Bowl advertising tips to get you started.

Don’t miss an opportunity to advertise your business during the biggest sports events in North Texas! Thomas Reprographics is the best source in town for posters, banners, menu boards, window clings and just about any other large format graphic you can think of.

Rumor has it that Super Bowl XLV will be in Dallas in February 2011... Are you as excited as we are? If you’re a business in Dallas or you’re planning on making the trip, how do you reach the nearly 200,000 extra people in the city (many of whom are head-honchos hailing from all over the country)? We’ve spent plenty of time thinking about just that, and we’re happy to report that Thomas Reprographics has the Super Bowl advertising solutions you need to make an impact come February. We've even got a few ideas for those of you trying to get the word out on a Big Game party in your own town! One advertising option has a whopping 97% of viewers and respondents reporting they remembered the ad after encountering it, and chances are with the influx of people in the Big D, there will be plenty of opportunities to view this particular medium.

Be sure to check out our other Super Bowl advertising ideas (we’ve spent way too much time coming up with this stuff!).

The Dallas Metroplex has always been known for having a multitude of impressive developments and landscaping in the greater areas. Every year at Topping Out, industry leaders from both Dallas and Fort Worth unite to recognize and honor excellence in the fields of development, architecture and construction that positively impact our communities. Awards are given not on the basis of individual achievement but rather in honor of the collective accomplishments of the entire team responsible for a project's success. Proceeds from Topping Out benefit The Arc of Dallas, improving the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities, and the University of Texas at Arlington School of Architecture.

Thomas Reprographics was one of several sponsors of this year's event and is proud to have a hand in supporting community-minded building projects as well as the UT Arlington School of Architecture and Arc of Dallas. It's rare to come across a charity that has such well-rounded benefits. We at Thomas love to support students and great educational programs, such as the UT Arlington School of Architecture. We are also excited to support an organization such as Arc of Dallas, which works with people of North Texas who deal with developmental disabilities. But it is an absolute delight to be able to support both of these groups in a way that also encourages local builders, developers, architects and city planners who work hard to make DFW a better place to live for everyone.
